There is a long time (in NFL terms) between now and the NFL trade deadline. Despite that, the Cleveland Browns have already been very active. Prior to the season, the Browns traded QB Kenny Pickett and DT Jowon Briggs and added OT KT Leveston. Over the last week plus, Cleveland added OT Cam Robinson, exchanged CB Greg Newsome II for CB Tyson Campbell and moved on from veteran QB Joe Flacco.
The Browns will be in an interesting position when the NFL trade deadline comes on November 4th. Cleveland’s
schedule includes its Bye Week coming just before the deadline, which means the Browns might be willing to make deals a week earlier, hence helping the acquiring team and getting a stronger return in deals, since they won’t be playing in Week 9.
According to Terry Pluto, Cleveland is not done making moves:
I hear more trades are coming before the Nov. 4 deadline.
If Pluto is right, and no reason to think otherwise, the Browns will be in an interesting position between making moves that help for the future but not impacting the culture of the team or the 2026 team. Similar trades like Newsome and Flacco, both pending free agents, could help tightrope that line for Cleveland.
How many more trades do you expect the Browns to make before the NFL trade deadline after Week 9’s action?
