UFC Vegas 110 went down last Saturday night (Nov. 1, 2025) inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, leaving several fighters feeling the post-fight blues. Among them was Montserrat Ruiz, who suffered her fourth straight defeat at the hands of Alice Ardelean.
And David Onama, who was knocked out by Steve Garcia in the very first round in what was pretty much a flawless victory (see it again here). But which fighter is suffering from the worst post-fight hangover, now a few days removed from the show?
Ante Delija.
Coming into the event, Delija was riding high off his UFC debut win over Marcin Tybura, which he earned via violent stoppage just last month (video replay here). With another victory, “Walking Trouble” could’ve very well catapulted himself into the Top 5 seeing as how the Heavyweight division is a hot mess at the moment.
Waldo Cortes-Acosta, meanwhile, had other plans.
In what truly was a chaotic scene in “Sin City,” Delija though he had secured himself his second win under the UFC banner after the referee stepped in to pause the fight in the middle of his flurry of punches on “Salsa Boy.” Delija, who was obviously over the moon with elation, went to celebrate with his team. Much to his confusion, though, he realized the fight wasn’t over and that the pause in action due to an inadvertent eye poke.
Delija had to calm himself down and get back into fight mode because the bout wasn’t over as he initially though. Unfortunately for the former PFL Heavyweight tournament winner, his joy came to a crashing halt moments after reigniting the bout after Cortes-Aosta tagged him and dropped him to the canvas. What followed was a barrage of strikes that prompted a proper stoppage from the official on duty. And just like that, Delija went from winner to loser in a blink of an eye, pun intended.
It’s an unfortunate conclusion for Delija, who just last week saw his training partner, current UFC Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, have his fight come to an abrupt end due to an eye poke. While he was able to retain his title, for Delija the outcome was not as prosperous as he will now have to pull himself back up from the unfortunate loss because the traction he had built for himself following his explosive win is now gone.
Obviously, Delija did not like how the fight played out.
“I’m not sure if I hit him in the eye. I think it’s near the eye and of course I want a video where you can see that sting correctly,” said Delija on social media. “The referee did not show ‘time-out,’ but stopped the fight and therefore declared me the winner,” Delija continued. “That decision cannot be changed later! The opponent sat and relaxed while watching the footage for more than a few minutes! Replay used after the interruption – which rules do not allow!! After [it] all, the fight continued irregularly!”
“I ask for nothing more, just honesty. I don’t run from defeat, I respect every opponent and every outcome. But not when rules are broken and I am robbed. Not in this way. The sport hasn’t seen this yet!!!”
As far as what could be next for “Walking Trouble,” a showdown against Tai Tuivasa is in order. Tuivasa is currently on a whopping five-fight losing streak and was last seen coming up short against Jairzinho Rozenstruik via split decision in Sept. 2024. “Bam Bam” is currently ranked No. 12 in the division, and a win over Delija would be great to get back on track.
