The Mets have made the final roster move of their disastrous 2026 season, barring any other announcements between now and first pitch, as the team placed right-handed pitcher Jonathan Pintaro on the injured list with an illness and recalled left-handed pitcher Jefry Yan. It had seemed like Yan had made his final appearance of the season when he was optioned to the minors yesterday, but he’ll have an opportunity to make one more in the season finale this afternoon in Washington, D.C.
Pintaro wound
up throwing 30.2 innings at the major league level this year, and he had a 5.28 ERA and a 5.12 FIP in that time. He spent the rest of his season with Triple-A Syracuse, and he had a 4.02 ERA and a 3.76 FIP in 40.1 innings of work at that level. According to FanGraphs, he’ll still have options remaining next year if the Mets decide to keep him in the bullpen mix.
Yan has a 4.87 ERA and a 4.82 FIP in 20.1 innings at the major league level this year.
