The playoff’s kicked off on Wednesday night with the first game in the Semifinal A series, a best of three matchup between the number one seed San Francisco Firebells and the number four seed Boston Hunters. While the Hunters held their own throughout, in the end the Firebells were able to avoid an upset and took game one with a final score of six to four.
Tonight, the Semifinal B series between the Los Angeles Queens and the New York Heights begins!
Unlike the Firebells vs. Hunters series, the matchup between the Los Angeles Queens and the New York Heights is a toss up. Both teams ended the regular season with an eight and seven record and the season series between the two teams was close with the Heights edging out the Queens three games to two.
Whatever has happened before tonight no longer matters. These two evenly matched teams will battle in a three game series to decide which moves on to the league championship series next week. It’s an exciting time to be a baseball fan!
