Bryan Battle may have more to worry about than just fighting when he meets Nate Diaz protege, Nicholas Kohring, at DBX 4 on Oct.30 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Battle, who made a successful Dirty Boxing Championship
debut this past August after cutting ties with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) following a disastrous weight cut, is hoping to continue his winning ways at the end of the month. “The Butcher” will be featured on the undercard of DBX 4 in a matchup against Kohring, who hails from the Diaz camp.
Kohring, who holds an MMA record of 13-2 with 12 finishes and a short stint on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), hasn’t competed since a bareknuckle boxing win back in March 2024. Battle will be a heavy betting favorite to walk out of DBX 4 victorious, but it’s the part after the fight that he’s most nervous about.
That’s because Diaz and his team have been known to get involved in extracurricular activities, including water bottles melees and street fights. If Battle isn’t careful he may find himself in a dangerous situation should he take care of Kohring and run into his team after the fight.
“I’m trying to work on my entourage as we speak,” Battle joked during a recent interview with Home of Fight. “I’m trying to recruit people. He might have all of Stockton. We might get jumped after I do what I do. We might get jumped. I need my entourage to have my back just in case anything goes down.”
