According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich will be pursuing a new wingers regardless of what happens with Serge Gnabry.
It was thought
that a contract extension for Gnabry would limit the need for acquiring a new winger, but it seems Bayern Munich will be in the market for one — maybe RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande 0r FC Köln’s Said El Mala — even if Gnabry inks a new deal:
Regardless of Serge Gnabry’s upcoming renewal, Bayern are determined to sign a new winger, preferably a left-winger. The current focus is on Yan Diomande and Said El Mala, depending on their availability and the price in the summer.
If Bayern Munich really does want Diomande, though, the competition will be fierce. According to Fabrizio Romano (via @iMiaSanMia), Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are expected to take a run at the 19-year-old:
Bayern, Manchester United and PSG are sending representatives to follow Yan Diomande. Tottenham already tried for this month but it wasn’t possible. Leipzig insist the winger will not leave in January, but it’s going to be a different story in the summer.
It look like Bayern Munich will be tapping into its war chest once again this summer.
