Most Valuable Promotions kicks off its partnership with ESPN this Sunday with the first of its all-women MVPW series, headlined by a lightweight title unification between Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper.
Bad Left Hook will have LIVE coverage of the card starting at 12:00 pm ET.
Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KO) started 2025 with a technical draw against Jessica Camara, but returned to her winning ways by outlasting the ultra-tough Bo Mi Re Shin in March and cruising past Camilla Panatta in December. Harper (16-2-2,
6 KO) became a three-division titlist by beating Rhiannon Dixon in September 2024, then took a decision over Natalie Zimmermann in her inaugural defense.
Does Dubois keep her “0” intact, or does “Belter” knock off another undefeated champion?
Who will win Dubois vs Harper?
I don’t think we’re in for the sort of blowout Harper suffered against Alycia Baumgardner and Sandy Ryan, but I don’t see this going well for her, either.
Harper’s defensive liabilities are just too clear at this point; she moves in straight lines and keeps her head in the center when attacking, then relies too heavily on a static guard when defending. Dubois showed against Shin that she has the tools to punish both.
If Dubois lets Harper lead, her lateral movement and clean counters figure to muzzle Harper’s offense in a hurry. Should she push forward, her ability to mix her head and body shots should wreak havoc on Harper’s earmuffs. Even if Harper manages to draw her into a slugfest the way Shin did, I’m not convinced she can overpower Dubois.
Dubois just has too much depth to her game and too many weapons with which to exploit Harper’s shortcomings. Whether she elects to walk Harper into shots or walk her down like Ryan did, expect her to punish Harper to a comfortable win.
Prediction: Dubois by unanimous decision
