According to a report from Kicker journalist Mario Krischel (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Jamal Musiala is working eight hours per day in hopes of being ready to face Real Madrid:
Jamal Musiala is currently putting in up to 8 hours of work everyday, both at Säbener Straße and at home. Musiala won’t rush anything after this most recent setback and will only return once the pain in his ankle has subsided. The current plan is for him to rejoin team training at some point next week and be gradually eased
back into action through short appearances.
Musiala has the first leg against Real Madrid in mind and wants to be involved. Since Bayern have performed very well in his absence so far, and considering they have Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl as alternatives, Musiala will be given more time to get back to full fitness, since everyone would benefit from having him fully fit. As for the player himself, being involved against Real Madrid is his short-term aim right now – and the big goal is being at his best for the World Cup in the summer.
BFW Commentary
This seems like the same thing that got Musiala into trouble in the first place. It is admirable that Musiala is working so hard and aiming to come back to face Real Madrid in the first leg, but it could be argued that he already came back too early twice this season and has set himself back.
Moreover, if he is deemed healthy, it might not be the best situation to play him against Real Madrid when Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl have performed so well this season. In his appearances, Musiala has not looked like his old self (as expected) and a Champions League quarterfinal match against Real Madrid would seem like a bad time to mess with the established chemistry that has already achieved a lot of success this season.
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany will have a tough choice to make if Musiala is medically cleared.
