The
Weird WWE/Big 12 Cobranding Shift
- Vanderbilt-Texas: Texas has looked like whole ass for the better part of a month now, and now Arch Manning is in concussion protocol for a season-on-the-brink game against Diego Pavia and the ‘Dores. One thing to watch for is that while Vandy has knocked off Bama and LSU at home, they have yet to go on the road and really grab a premier SEC pelt and this could be their chance.
- Miami (FL)-SMU: In all liklihood an eliminator match for the ACC Championship contention race. SMU’s pass defense is suspect, this could be a big chance for Carson Beck to re-affirm himself.
- Arizona State-Iowa State: Nothing to play for besides pride here as both teams are firmly in the Big 12 mid-table but could be a fun game regardless.
- UCF-Baylor: If ASU-ISU is the mid-card, this is getting buried on the pre-match.
The World’s Largest Outdoor MIP Shift
- Virginia-Cal: The dream of Playoff Hoos remains alive, even if the path here thus far has been…shaky. Cal overall is not a good team, but on a good day JKS can easily derail the Cavalier Express.
- Florida-Georgia: On paper this should be a blowout given how Florida has nothing to play for the rest of the way but…
- Mississippi State-Arkansas: Well, something’s got to give here. Both teams have been game all season long, moreso than their opponents would prefer but have come up short nearly every single time. Either Jeff Lebby will get his first win here or Bobby Petrino will get the Hogs out of the ditch.
- Michigan State-Minnesota: It’s football.
Put on a Damn Helmet Shift
- Oklahoma-Tennessee: Likely not going to impact the SEC or Playoff race, but I have a feeling watching this game you’ll never be able to tell as such. Should be a hell of a game between two helmets.
- USC-Nebraska: Another great helmet matchup that may not mean much outside of this game, though the Trojans aren’t out of contention by any means.
- Georgia Tech-NC State: Like Virginia, Georgia Tech has had a degree of getting away with it so far, though I think they’re better than the Cavs. However, I am always leery of a road game to Raleigh, this is the trap game of all trap games.
- Arizona-Colorado: You know the rules.
Robert Kekaula Memorial Shift
- Cincinnati-Utah: Cincy is all of a sudden on an inside track to the Big 12 Title, but to get there they must survive a late night in the MUSS. Whatcha got, Brendan Sorsby?
- Hawaii-San Diego State: I have a thought, but I dare not speak it for fear of alerting the universe to the possibility of it.
