Barely a week remains until teams across the NFL trim their rosters down from the 90-man offseason limit to the 53-man limit of the regular season. With that being the case, and with the final preseason games set for this weekend, there will be no shortage of rumors and reports about potential cap casualties or draft busts potentially hitting the waiver wire over the next week.
That said, according to a report Monday, the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are expected to waive undrafted
free agent running back Anthony Hankerson, but according to his agents Hankerson is hoping to go unclaimed and clear waivers in order to return to college and enter the transfer portal.
Hankerson originally signed with the Miami Dolphins after going undrafted, but was waived in early August. He then signed with the Seahawks just a week ago, but with college football now effectively being professional sports teams attached to a university, Hankerson plans to enter the transfer portal and return to college football.
