Along with the recent mincamp came a small number of roster moves from the Dallas Cowboys. For three of the signings, they dipped into a resource that has served them well – the UFL. Both Brandon Aubrey and KaVontae Turpin were members of that league before the Cowboys scooped them up. The team also added an NFL vet at edge rusher.
Let’s meet the new players with some short bios.
WR Denzel Mims
Many may recognize this name as Mims was a second-round pick of the New York Jets all the way back in 2020 after a great career at Baylor. He never accomplished much with the Jets and there was some bad blood between the player and the organization. He then bounced around to several NFL teams on practice squads since leaving the Jets in 2022.
Mims played the 2026 UFL season with the Dallas Renegades. He is 6’3” and 210 pounds.
CB Ameer Speed
Speed played collegiately at Georgia and Michigan State before being a sixth-round pick in 2023 by the Patriots. He has played 17 career games in the NFL with the Patriots and the Colts, while also having short stints with three other teams.
He played with the Houston Gamblers in the UFL. He is 6’3” and 215 pounds.
OL Chris Glaser
Believe it or not, this isn’t Glaser’s first time with the Cowboys. Glaser went to college at Virginia, then signed with the Chiefs as an UDFA in 2022. For a very brief period in 2023 he was on the Cowboys practice squad. He’s played in eight NFL games.
Glaser spent 2026 with the Columbus Aviators in the UFL, mainly at guard. He is 6’4” and 306 pounds.
EDGE Charles Snowden
This one is probably the most interesting of the signings. Snowden has NFL experience and a few skins on the wall. As noted in the tweet below, Snowden has started 18 games for the Raiders over the last two years and notched 4.5 sacks. The Cowboys can certainly use an experienced EDGE to bring more competition at camp.
Snowden played collegiately at Virginia and signed with the Bears after the draft in 2021. Not much happened for him until he reached the Raiders in 2024. He had a decent season in 2025 (three sacks, five TFLs), and is one to keep an eye on at camp.
The first three signings were swapping out the bottom of the roster. The Cowboys put OL Matt Hennessy on IR, so they brought in Glaser. They released Cory Ballantine and signed Speed. They brought Mims in to replace WR Romello Brinson.
