Barcelona have confirmed that Fermin Lopez has officially agreed a new contract with the club.
Lopez has put pen to paper on a deal that will run until 2031. It’s been reported that the extension will include
a pay rise and see his release clause doubled.
Here’s Barcelona’s official statement:
“Agreement has been reached between FC Barcelona and first team player Fermín López to extend and improve his contract for a further two seasons up to 30 June 2031.
“The contract will be signed during the coming days in the office of president Joan Laporta, when the player will also be speaking to the media.”
Lopez has previously attracted interest from Premier League big spenders Chelsea but wasn’t too interested in a move to west London.
He’s gone on to become a key player in Hansi Flick’s squad at Camp Nou and has now committed his long-term future to the club.
