The New York Giants aren’t the only team in the NFC East making headlines. Around the division, key players are returning from injury, position battles are going down to the wire, and coaching staffs are keeping fans and fantasy managers guessing as Week 1 approaches.
Here’s what’s happening with the rest of the NFC East:
Washington Commanders
McLaurin returns, but Robinson trade rumors heat up Terry McLaurin’s return to practice was the headline Washington needed. The star wideout had been sidelined during his contract
dispute, but this week he was activated off the PUP list and back in full pads.
Still, all is not settled in the nation’s capital. Multiple reports indicate the Commanders have fielded calls about running back Brian Robinson Jr. While nothing is imminent, new GM Adam Peters isn’t afraid to shake things up.

Fangio’s CB2 decision still “too close to call”
The Eagles’ defense has a glaring question mark opposite Quinyon Mitchell — and no clear answer yet. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said the CB2 battle remains tight and won’t be decided until after the final preseason game.
Rookie Cooper DeJean, late-arriving Jakorian Bennett, and the now-healthy Mac McWilliams are all getting first-team reps. Fangio said each has “flashed” at times, but none has separated.
On a brighter note, rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell continues to impress, with Fangio calling him “more comfortable” and “getting better and better each week.”

Cowboys backfield deciding itself, Parsons and Jerry still without deal
With one preseason game left, the Cowboys’ backfield is starting to take shape. Javonte Williams hasn’t taken a preseason snap in back-to-back weeks, sitting alongside offensive stars Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson, and George Pickens. That’s usually a strong sign he’ll be the first running back in the huddle when Dallas opens the season against Philadelphia.
Off the field, contract negotiations with Micah Parsons remain unresolved. The All-Pro defender and Dallas have yet to agree on an extension, keeping a cloud over what’s otherwise been a steady camp.
