The Giallorossi righted the ship with a convincing 2-0 win against Lecce, allowing them to stay level with Juventus in fourth place at 36 points. Yet in many ways, that Lecce win was all but expected; it would have truly been a major problem if Roma had dropped points to Eusebio Di Francesco’s side. Today’s match is a slightly different challenge; while the Neroverdi haven’t won a game in five matches, they’re still hovering around midtable, and have a win against Atalanta and a draw against Milan
to show that they’re not going to roll over every time a big club comes calling. Roma are certainly still favored for this one, but it will likely require more grit than the Lecce match did—as well as continued strong performances from Evan Ferguson, who has seemingly cemented his place in Rome even with Frederic Massara reportedly steps away from confirming the signings of Giacomo Raspadori and Robinio Vaz.
