Last Saturday (Nov 15) Cleveland hosted a one of a kind event: Her Hobby Trade Night. This trade night focused on curating an environment where women, non-binary individuals, and everyone in between were able to trade cards and talk card collecting.
I had the absolute pleasure of attending the trade night, my first trade night, and left with new cards and a great experience. The trade night was held at local donut shop/bar Brewnuts and featured an appearance from the CSU Women’s Basketball team. Various
card shops donated boxes and packs to rip, leading to some of the most enjoyable pack ripping I’ve experienced surrounded by friends and laughter.
This was an amazing experience to be able to share with a growing community of card collectors in an uplifting space. I hope this was not the last of its kind and that more events with this atmosphere will pop up in response to the success. Keep an eye on Topps Ripped for more coverage on the night and interviews from some of the attendees (including myself).
