The World Cup is winding down, with the third place match on Saturday between France and England, and the final set for Sunday between Argentina and Spain. All of this to say that most players that were of interest in the transfer season are now on vacation, which also means that their agents are back to work wheeling and dealing.
Egypt was eliminated from the tournament by Argentina a couple of rounds ago, meaning that Mohamed Salah has been allowed to enjoy the rest of his summer after the team’s
triumphant return home. His agent, on the other hand, has been securing a place for the winger following his departure from Liverpool this season, and it appears there is finally some movement on that front.
The news arrived on Friday that Salah has reportedly agreed to terms with Turkish club Besiktas, first reported by French publication Foot Mercato.
Salah will join the club for a year with an agreement worth around €10 million/£8.5 million, with a further €2 million in bonuses available and an option to extend by an additional year.
Of course, it only took a few more hours for Ramy Abbas Issa, Salah’s agent, to post publicly that this news is untrue and leave everyone back to the drawing board.
There’s been various rumours about where the prolific player may end up now that he’s a free agent, from Saudi Arabia to Kansas City (yes, really) but until something is confirmed, we know about as much as anyone wants us to know.
