Stephanie Vaquer has publicly addressed what she characterized as a “worrying” encounter with a fan at an airport that left her feeling “uncomfortable.”
Writing about the incident on X (Twitter), the WWE Women’s World Champion began by noting that she always “very kind to my fans.”
In the message, posted on Tuesday, Vaquer wrote the day before “was my birthday and I was honestly having a really bad day. Even so, I politely asked for understanding, and many people respected that.”
She continued, “But
you followed me for a long time, saying hurtful things and making me feel uncomfortable. I told you no multiple times, and you kept following me and recording. And now you’re posting this on social media. It’s sad to see people like you call themselves fans…”
Vaquer’s message also included a link to a post from the fan that included the airport footage, but that post has since been removed.
According to Fightful, the fan also responded to Vaquer in a since-deleted comment on X that read: “Look let’s get this straight i did not even follow you for a long time I just walked five steps outside and you would just standing there with your friends i do not make people uncomfortable i did not harass you were just standing there with your friends and I asked you nicely.”
Vaquer’s boyfriend, NXT star Myles Borne, also posted a message supporting the Chilean superstar.
“You are the sweetest and most kind person I’ve ever met. That’s what attracted me to you in the first place,” Borne wrote. “I’ve personally witnessed you take time for others even when you weren’t feeling your best. They say never meet your heroes.. clearly they’ve never met La Primera.”
The incident with Vaquer is the latest example of a WWE star taking issue with how people interact with them while they’re traveling. Last October, CM Punk also called out fans for inappropriate behavior.
“We unfortunately have to have this conversation again,” Punk wrote in a message posted on Instagram. “Do not turn up at airports. Do not show up at hotels. I cannot believe I have to say this. DO NOT FOLLOW PEOPLE.”
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion added: “You’ve repeatedly been told no, respect it. You are not a fan, you are a stalker and will be treated as such. Respect the boundaries. Stop harassing people.”
