Writer’s Prelude. Today’s DT is a reminder that sometimes you gotta close a door to open a window .
This week will also hopefully feature a few more DTs written by your fellow MMers. Again please email us at managingmadridmods@gmail.com

Open Window
Dear MM,
I’m starting to enjoy the euphoria of writing DTs on my phone while racing to my next appointment or life event so again bear with me through his hectic process. Anyway, sometimes in life you have to “close a door to open a window” Sometimes you just need to close a chapter that is perfectly fine or at least used to make you content to achieve a higher level of peace. I think we sometimes relearn the value of this thought process through transfer windows, summers, writing DTs, and sometimes not writing DTs (lol). Nevertheless, let’s turn to Real Madrid.
Open Window —Rodri. As we’ve all seen, relentless news regarding Rodri continues to pervade our Real Madrid media. Although I’m under the impression that this transfer will eventually be completed due to the now perceived objectives of all parties — I still want to just reiterate a bit of patience to my fellow MMers. We will still need to negotiate a transfer fee with Manchester City to which I don’t believe will be a massive impediment but may simply delay things. Rodri’s price has inevitably increased (to some degree) due to his marvelous World Cup performance but additionally City seem actively engaged in negotiations for Bouaddi, which may just slow this process down as far as timing. Nevertheless, I’m not too worried about this transfer being done.
Open Window – Olise. More reports from Germany and Spain seem to link Michael Olise with Real Madrid. From my own records and sources, there does seem to be a genuine interest from Olise to move and play for Real Madrid, but the player doesn’t plan on forcing a move. I expect Rodri to dominate most news this week but don’t be surprised if Olise becomes a major talking point by early next week as players return to their respective clubs. Anyway, as I keep saying, doubters can continue warming up to the thought of Olise playing in all-white. We already stepped on the pitch and have seen all we’ve needed.
Closed Doors? Doors are going to quickly close as this summer window continues to remain open. There are several standout and younger players whose Madrid positions and careers are currently in flux. There has been zero update on Vini’s contract renewal which marches everyday towards him being more and more incentivized to leave for free. Camavinga is a player who at the moment communicates his willingness to stay but could potentially maneuver a move id Real sign another midfielder ahead of him. I’ve heard rumblings about Fede if there’s a market. Endrick may feel a larger role especially if a player like Olise is brought in or if Gonzalo stays for another season.

All that really remains to be said is never get to comfortable at Real Madrid (as a player or a fan). Things seem to change rather quickly.
Cheers,
J
