If the feelings of the fans mean anything, maybe this is truly a different offseason for the Dallas Cowboys. We’ve grown accustomed to being angry at Jerry and Stephen Jones for moves made, or not made, during any particular offseason.
This year there is a little different feel around the team. The Cowboys didn’t go overboard in free agency, but they made some very good signings. In the draft they stole Caleb Downs and look to have hit gold with Jaishawn Barham. And they were ruthless in renovating
the personnel on defense.
Perhaps the biggest move they made was the hiring of Christian Parker as the defensive coordinator. A move that went against their normal routine of hiring older, experienced coordinators. This time they went through a rigorous process and arrived at what looks like an inspired pick that didn’t have past connections with the team.
All those moves and more have pleased the fanbase. We asked you to grade their performance, and 54% said ‘B’ and 37% said ‘A’. Only 9% voted for a combined ‘C’ through “F” grade. If you know how critical fans have been of past offseasons, that is a pretty remarkable result.
So what is the top move the Cowboys made this offseason? Let us know in the comments.
