Jauan Jennings spent five years with the San Francisco 49ers and apparently he had enough of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. The 49ers had agreed to a trade with the Minnesota Vikings to reunite with Jennings, according to Jay Glazer, but they wanted Jennings to FaceTime with Shanahan and Lynch first. Jennings said something along the lines of “no thanks” and opted to stay with the Vikings, per Glazer.
That’s a rejection unlike any rumor we’ve ever heard before.
Despite Jennings only having four catches for 43 yards with the Vikings this season — and the team agreeing to trade him — the receiver rejected the 6-1 49ers. It’s a bold statement from someone who had almost 1,000 receiving yards with Shanahan in 2024 and caught nine touchdowns for the 49ers in 2025.
Jennings hasn’t had anything near that success with Kevin O’Connell’s team this season, but apparently likes it more in Minnesota than in San Francisco.
The Los Angeles Rams haven’t tried to trade for Jennings — that we know of — but maybe this would be the perfect opportunity for them to try. If for no other reason than trolling the 49ers.
