The Wisconsin Badgers are facing off against the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers in Week 12, hitting the road for their sixth ranked opponent of the year.
The Badgers are coming off a much-needed 13-10 win over
the then-No. 23 Washington Huskies, putting together an impressive defensive performance for the big upset.
Wisconsin had only 48 passing yards in the game, 24 of which came from punter Sean West on a fake, but ran the ball for 157 yards on 47 attempts. That included 15 from freshman quarterback Carter Smith, who entered the game in place of an injured Danny O’Neil.
Defensively, the Badgers had five sacks and forced two turnovers, which either prevented or led to scores. Freshman linebackers Mason Posa and Cooper Catalano were the stars of the show. Posa had 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Catalano, on the other hand, had a whopping 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack.
Things don’t get any easier for the Badgers this weekend, though, as they face the No. 2 team in the country in the 10-0 Indiana Hoosiers.
The Hoosiers have been an offensive firepower this season, pouring at least 50 points in five different games, including conference matchups against the Illinois Fighting Illini, UCLA Bruins, and Maryland Terrapins. Their defense has also been elite, making them one of the most complete teams in the country and well-deserving of their No. 2 ranking.
But, Indiana did face some resistance last weekend, needing a last-minute comeback (literally) to fend off the Penn State Nittany Lions 27-24 on the road.
Now, they’ll host the Badgers for the first time in the Curt Cignetti era. How can you watch the game?
