Indiana men’s basketball head coach Darian DeVries provided an update on the health of junior guard Nick Dorn during his regular radio show on Monday ahead of the Hoosiers’ season opener against Alabama
A&M on Wednesday.
DeVries said that Indiana hopes Dorn will be available against the Bulldogs and got some good news on his medical reports, per SI’s Daniel Flick:
Dorn was unavailable during Indiana’s scrimmages against Marian in Assembly Hall and Baylor in Indianapolis nor during the program’s foreign tour in Puerto Rico. Jon Rothstein, CBS Sports’ college basketball insider, previously reported that Dorn hopes to be cleared for all basketball activities this week.
Dorn sustained a foot fracture last season while with Elon and had to have the procedure redone, DeVries previously said during an appearance on the Field of 68. He averaged 15.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game while shooting 35.1% from 3-point range last season with the Phoenix. He’ll look to provide some valuable shooting depth, likely from the bench, with the Hoosiers.
