He soon saw why. A stalled red-and-yellow passenger van — owned by a husband and wife, two Chiefs fans — was blocking the road.
“Obviously, they’ve got a big van, so I was feeling bad. He was trying to push it by himself,” Gillotte told The Athletic in the locker room Wednesday. “So I was like, ‘I’ll just pull over.’”
Gillotte said once he got out, he began talking to the couple. The husband’s efforts to push the van by himself had been futile, so Gillotte offered to help. He got behind the vehicle to help roll it forward. Soon after, Gillotte’s family friends joined in to get it moving faster.

“When he scored the touchdown, we saw the passion come out,” fellow Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice said. “He was able to scream and everybody was super excited for him.”
Rice said the upbeat feeling has continued this week.
“He’s talking in the meetings, smiling,” Rice said. “So, I think that’s all he needed to open up.”

LT Kahlil Benson
The Chiefs signed Benson as an undrafted free agent this offseason, and he’s made them look like geniuses. The former Indiana Hoosier has started at left tackle the first two weeks with Josh Simmons hurt. He’s looked like a natural at the position.
No one expected Benson to even make the roster, much less protect Mahomes’ blind side in Week 1. He’s been a revelation through the first two weeks. Even when Simmons gets healthy, Benson should keep his starting left tackle job.

However, that will not prevent the QB from needing surgery. ESPN added that Dart suffered damage to his left MCL, PCL and meniscus, with the latter being the main issue.
Giants head coach John Harbaugh confirmed on Wednesday afternoon Dart will undergo season-ending surgery. Harbaugh, who did not specify when the surgery would take place, did leave the door open for Dart to return in the postseason.
The timeline for a meniscus repair is four to six months, Garafolo noted.
