Know your enemy
- The season hasn’t started, so we don’t really have much to “know” here. You know the Capitals have Alex Ovechkin. They’ve added exciting youngster Ryan Leonard into the mix as well.

Potential lines
It remains to be seen how Marco Sturm chooses to set up his group, but as we get into the swing of this season, I thought it might help to have an idea of how the players will line up.
Per the Bruins’ Belle
Fraser, this is how the lines and pairings looked on Tuesday:
Geekie-Lindholm-Pastrnak
Zacha-Mittelstadt-Arvidsson
Jeannot-Minten-Eyssimont
Khusnutdinov-Kuraly-Kastelic
Lohrei-McAvoy
Lindholm-Peeke
Zadorov-Jokiharju
Game notes
- Welcome to a new season, folks! We’re glad to be back for another season here at Stanley Cup of Chowder, and we appreciate you following along. The community has grown a lot over the past few years, and I don’t remember having a more engaged comment section. Let’s all have fun out there.
- It doesn’t mean much (or anything, really), but these two teams played twice in the preseason. They split the two games, with the Caps winning 5-2 and the Bruins winning 3-1.
- The Capitals overachieved by a significant margin last season, finishing atop the Eastern Conference. It’s not fair to say their season was a fluke, but it’s reasonable to wonder if they can maintain the same level of play this season. I’m also curious to see how the hangover from the “Gr8 Chase” affects Ovechkin, if at all.
- This Bruins team looks drastically different from the team we saw on Opening Night last year, so you can be forgiven if it takes you some time to remember who’s who. I won’t hold it against you.
- I’m not sure what else to say here. It’s a new season. Get your takes ready.
Since a new season is upon us, get ready by giving us your predicted finish for the Bruins this season. We will hold you to it via contractual obligation, and if you’re wrong, you get banished to Habs Eyes on the Prize.
I say the Bruins will be better than most think this year, finishing in a wild card spot in the East.
Have your say!
