The Pittsburgh Steelers are at the center of many an NFL trade rumor. After the Indianapolis Colts began the auction by sending away both Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, the trade talks around the NFL media sphere began to explode.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler put out a list of 25 players that could be traded before the deadline, as well as their chances of getting traded. Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen was listed as a potential trade candidate, with Fowler noting that the Dallas Cowboys inquired
about his availability.
“Rumors of a Queen trade persisted in the spring, with the Cowboys among teams that checked on his availability,” Fowler writes. “He’s also a 2027 free agent. But the Steelers’ status as a 5-2 team likely keeps him in Pittsburgh.”
Fowler gave Queen a 20 percent chance of getting traded.
The former Raven is coming off perhaps his best game as a Steeler, recording a team-high 10 tackles against the New Orleans Saints in Pittsburgh’s 16-10 win. He has racked up consecutive 120+ tackle seasons with the Steelers, and was a Pro Bowl selection in 2024. He currently has 48 tackles and one interception on the year.
