Barcelona have been hit with a major injury scare over the international break as Raphinha was taken off at half-time of Brazil’s friendly against Australia due to a thigh problem.
Raphinha will miss Brazil’s next friendly against India but the early indications are it’s not a serious problem and won’t keep him on the sidelines for long.
It’s possible Raphinha could miss Barcelona’s next game against Getafe due to the problem and particularly as the Catalans have some key fixtures coming up next month
against Real Madrid and PSG.
Raphinha’s recent injury record also suggests that Hansi Flick may have to handle the 29-year-old with care this season. However, the German coach certainly has plenty of quality attacking options that will allow him to rotate.
Replacing a key player such as Raphinha is never easy but Flick has Gabriel Jesus, Hamza Abdelkarim, Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal as his attacking options.
