The Los Angeles Rams signed Tre’Davious White to a one-year, $4.25 million deal in 2024 in the hopes he could recover from his Achilles injury and return to his previous level of play in Buffalo. He did the first, but not the second. He earned a starting cornerback job to start the season, but was benched in Week 5 and did not appear in another game for Los Angeles.
The Ravens’ cornerback depth was questionable behind starters Brandon Stephens and Marlon Humphrey. 2024 first-round pick Nate Wiggins
had yet to establish himself as a reliable NFL defender, and 2022 fourth-rounder Jalyn Armour-Davis was dealing with yet another injury. White may not have played up to expectations in Los Angeles, but he proved he was healthy. That was enough for Baltimore, who needed his experience in their secondary and traded for White midseason in 2025.
Now that the trade is wrapped up with compensation, we are going to take a closer look.
Original terms of the Tre’Davious White trade from the Rams
- Rams received: 2026 seventh-round pick
- Ravens received: cornerback Tre’Davious White, 2027 seventh-round pick
How did the Rams use the pick from the Tre’Davious White trade?
The Rams received the Ravens’ original seventh-round pick in the trade, which landed at No. 232 on Day 3 of this year’s draft. They drafted Alabama DT Tim Keenan.
How did Tre’Davious White perform for the Ravens?
White served as the Ravens’ fourth cornerback to close out the season. He impressed in his 19 his seven appearances – albeit in a small sample size of 182 snaps – allowing a measly 2.7 yards per target and 5.4 yards per reception. Opposing quarterbacks posted a 50.0% completion rate and a 56.2 passer rating when targeting the veteran corner. However, White gave up three catches for 46 yards on his four targets in the playoffs, marring the end of his time in Baltimore.
How did the Ravens use the pick from the Tre’Davious White trade?
The Ravens snagged not only a 2027 pick alongside White, they earned a somewhat-unexpected seventh-round compensatory pick as a result of White’s reunion with the Bills on a one-year, $3 million deal. That is the 250th pick in the draft, meaning that Baltimore moved back 18 spots in the seventh round in 2026.
With the compensatory pick, they selected Michigan DT Rayshaun Benny.
