Yesterday, Portugal rolled over Uzbekistan with a 5-0 win. Ronaldo scored twice, and Rafa Leão added a beauty in the 87th minute. England struggled through a 0-0 draw with Ghana. Croatia got a second-half goal from Ante Budimir to eke out a 1-0 win over Panama. Colombia stayed 0-0 with DR Congo until the 76th minute when Chris Richards’ Crystal Palace teammate Daniel Muñoz scored, and that goal lifted Colombia to a 1-0 win.
Today, we get matchday 3 for Groups A, B, and C. Switzerland and Canada both
drew in their World Cup openers, and both had rousing wins in their second matches. Now they play each other to see who can top Group B. On the flip side, both Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina managed draws in their openers, and both suffered tough defeats in their last game. They will be looking to pick up 3 points at each other’s expense in hopes of advancing as a third-place team in the group.
Group C is tight. Brazil would like to get a win against Scotland to maximize their chances of winning the group; Morocco would like the same thing as they face Haiti. Mexico have already won Group A; they face Czechia, who are fighting to survive. South Korea are a little bit more comfortable sitting on 3 points, but a win over South Africa would lock in their second-place finish after their loss to Mexico.
So, what will the games have in store for us today? Stick around, drop your comments, and have a great time.
