During a press conference held by Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino legend spoke about continuing his fighting career and how he’s currently in the midst of negotiating his next outing. While most of us have
already heard that Pacquiao is hoping to secure a rematch against Floyd Mayweather, he also says he’s in talks for a potential fight against Vasiliy Lomachenko who recently retired from the sport.
“There’s a lot of ongoing negotiations right now, so it’s hard to plan what fight I’m going to post,” Pacquiao said. “I’m waiting for the final negotiation. But right now we have a lot of negotiation about my next fight. There’s a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather, and also there’s a fight with Lomachenko and other fighters. So soon we are going to announce the final decision of what fight we’re going to post.
“I would love a rematch with Floyd Mayweather so I hope that the negotiations — that we can understand each other and we can negotiate well.”
Pacquiao returned to the ring this past July in a bid to become the oldest welterweight champion, but ended up with a majority draw against Mario Barrios. Pacquiao obviously at least looked good enough in that fight to warrant another outing, and there’s obviously no bigger payday out there for in in that regard as Mayweather.
