The plan might be “working out” long-term, but the barbarians are at the gates for the Cleveland Browns after dropping to 1-5 in Week 6 with a lifeless performance by the offense. The Pittsburgh Steelers really didn’t play that well, but the limitations on the offensive line and passing game gave the home team a chance to control the game, quite easily.
All of a sudden, a Browns roster that was lauded before the start of the 2024 season is older and performing poorly, while the NFL draft class and UDFA
group carry as much as they can.
At this point, and once again way too early in the season, all eyes in Cleveland have turned to the NFL trade deadline and the NFL draft. The future is once again more important than the present. Last week, the red-hot Jacksonville Jaguars were tied with the best record in the NFL and were positioned with the 26th pick overall, while the Browns sat second in the projected order.
With the New York Jets remaining winless, Cleveland did not move up with their loss this week, but Jacksonville did:
- New York Jets: 0-6
- Cleveland Browns: 1-5
- Baltimore Ravens
- Miami Dolphins
- New Orleans Saints
- Tennessee Titans
- Cincinnati Bengals: 2-4
- Las Vegas Raiders
- New York Giants
- Arizona Cardinals
At 4-2, the Jaguars are slotted with the 21st pick and tied with eight other teams with that same record. The 4-1 Buffalo Bills play the 2-2 Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. The outcome could have a small impact on where Jacksonville’s pick is slotted.
