It’s back to Premier League action this weekend, with Chelsea hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers for a bit of Saturday Night Football under the lights at Stamford Bridge. We just played Wolves in the League Cup,
putting four past them, so hopefully we can do that once again even if they’re now under interim management following the sacking of Vitor Pereira.
That win in the League Cup would end up being more memorable for Liam Delap’s red card: he’s now served his suspension, so will be available to make amends. Unfortunately, Roméo Lavia picked up an(other) injury midweek, so he’s out once again. Pedro Neto is questionable after skipping the Qarabag trip, but it sounded like that was more precautionary than anything. Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Dário Essugo, and Benoît Badiashile remain out with various long(er)-term injuries.
Maresca has put his faith in the squad by rotating and trying to manage minutes and workloads. That hasn’t always worked out in his favor, but it’s absolutely necessary that he continues to do so — so that we have our best available for the more important games, such as these three points at home ahead of the November international break.
