Barcelona midfielder Gavi has undergone further testing on his knee injury on Monday and a decision has reportedly now been made on the way forwards.
Reports from Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo reveal that Barcelona have decided against another operation for the time being and will instead continue with a conservative treatment plan.
MD say Barcelona plan to use the next three weeks to see how Gavi progresses. If the pain subsides then he will be able to return to action, but if not a new plan will have
to be made.
The club are eager to avoid surgery at the moment and are hoping that the problem will resolve with continued conservative treatment.
There has been talk of an arthroscopy to clean out the knee, but it seems that is not an option at the moment.
Gavi therefore faces a little spell on the sidelines and will miss forthcoming games against Valencia, Newcastle and Getafe.
The hope is that he will then be available once again, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for good news.
