In news of very little surprise to anyone really, Dominik Szoboszlai’s gorgeous volley/half-volley has won the EA Sports Goal of the Month for the month of September.
The absolutely stunning strike was the kind that you show replays of even to your least football-inclined mates while saying some variation of, “Get a load of that.” Cody Gakpo’s assist knee slide surely an honorable mention here.
Liverpool coolly won their League Cup tie against Tottenham after this strike to make it three for the Reds
settled things, and regardless of the context it’s a lovely one to revisit.
After Szoboszlai’s strike came Alexis Mac Allister’s winning goal in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid in second, and followed by Víctor Muñoz’s first goal for the Reds in third.
