Minchey, who acted as C.J. Carr’s backup at Notre Dame after losing the starting battle last season, is a junior-to-be with two seasons of eligibility remaining. Following the Las Vegas Bowl, he will become the Huskers’ second scholarship QB on the 2026 roster after the transfers of Dylan Raiola and Marcos Davila, the graduation of Jalyn Gramstad and the decommitment of Dayton Raiola.
Minchey was 20-26 for 196 yards in mop-up duty the freshman Carr. He will be expected to compete with sophomore-to-be T.J. Lateef who was 74-123 for 904 yards with 5 TD’s and 1 INT and started the final 4 games following Dylan Raiola’s season-ending injury.
More info to come as it becomes available.
