The 2026 season has come to its conclusion, and with it, the chaos that is the NCAA transfer portal has officially opened. While teams navigate the Mountain West-Pac-12 split, I will be keeping track of who teams lose and gain through the portal window. Fitzpatrick (Long Beach State)
Outlook: CSU made its first transfer splash from the D1 level on Wednesday, signing the talented Callie Fitzpatrick away from her home program in Long Beach. Despite having the diamond in her blood (her dad played for the Dirtbags and her mom played softball at San Diego State), Fitzpatrick is quite frankly one of the most unlucky softball players I have ever seen. She is yet to play a single game of collegiate softball, despite being on the Beach’s roster the past two seasons. She has had a total of four surgeries during that time, but the undeniable talent she possesses was still enough to allow her to gain another D1 opportunity. I pray she stays healthy in 2027, because the Rams may have just gotten themselves a steal if she does.

Outlook: This is not a recent addition, it merely slipped under my radar for far too long. Analy Trejo is a two-way slugger coming off of a season where she hit 15 home runs, collected 74 RBIs, and held down a 4.28 ERA in 50.2 innings for Arizona Western College. While the circle-based numbers are nothing to write home about, I expect Trejo to be used frequently as a DH by SJSU in 2027, especially considering just how much production the Spartans are losing this offseason. San Jose State needs to take chances on players with Trejo’s upside if they want to be remotely competitive in 2027, so I am a big fan of this move by the Spartans.
