The newly promoted Jefferson Rojas immediately introduced himself to the International League, singling in his first at-bat and going yard in his second. He was one of four Mets players to have multi-hit games, along with Ronny Mauricio, Ryan Clifford, and Vidal Brujan, the latter of whom had a three-hit evening. It was a group effort on the pitching side of things, but everyone who got into this game put up zeroes except for Dylan Ross, who allowed a run in his inning
of work.
With the win, Syracuse gained a game on the Rochester Red Wings, who lost 9-8 to the Buffalo Bisons, and are 1.5 games back. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders won their game against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 6-5 and are a single game behind first place.
