The Las Vegas Raiders took a hit before the Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs before the contest even began. Starting defensive tackle reportedly suffered a back injury during pregame warmups and has officially been ruled questionable return.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vincent Bonsignore, Butler was in the medical blue tent on the sidelines before heading to the locker room during the beginning stages of the first quarter. He was not on the field during the Raiders’ first defensive
drive of the game.
Butler has started all six games before Sunday and has had 19 tackles with no sacks or tackles for loss on the season. The defense will have to lean heavily on Jonah Laulu, Thomas Booker IV and Leki Fotu with Butler injured and rookie defensive linemen JJ Pegues and Tonka Hemingway inactive.
Meanwhile, the offense is also down a few starters since tight end Brock Bowers and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers are injured and not playing. So Las Vegas certainly is short-handed while attempting to pull off an upset in Kansas City.
Additionally, the Raiders’ defense will likely be down Maxx Crosby for the rest of the game. Crosby was injured at the end of the first half and was ruled doubtful to return at the start of the third quarter. He’s dealing with back and knee injuries. Malcolm Koonce and Tyree Wilson will likely be at defensive end for the rest of the afternoon.
