What is the story about?
AEW hung out in New Mexico’s Rio Rancho Events Center last night (June 24) to tape their last bit of television before Forbidden Door this Sunday in San Jose, California. That will be the Collision episode that premieres on TNT and HBO Max this Sat., June 27 at its usual 8 p.m. Eastern start.
Several of the matches, including the tag team match featuring the Women’s Owen Hart Cup finalists, and two title tilts, were announced on Wednesday’s live Dynamite.
Here’s are the (fairly bare bones) results, courtesy of PWInsider and posts on social media from fans in Rio Rancho:
- Chris Jericho def. JD Drake
- Athena and Mercedes Mone def. Hyan and Maya World via pinfall (Athena on Hyan)
- Forbidden Door’s Buy-In pre-show added a match: Skye Blue announced she will face Stardom’s Maika for the sixth and final spot in next Wednesday’s TBS title Survival of the Fittest match
- Mistico and Mike Bailey def. The Premier Athletes
- Persephone def. Billie Starkz to retain the CMLL Women’s title
- Jake Doyle def. Adam Priest
- Kevin Knight def. Dezmond Xavier to retain the TNT title
- The Conglomeration def. The Opps (Orange Cassidy pinned Anthony Bowens)
Other than Tony Khan doing the Timecop and thanks bits, that’s the report. Sound like a good reason to check out Collision on the eve of Forbidden Door this weekend?
