Well, in case you wanted some more, uh, not good news after this afternoon’s baseball fiasco, the Tennessee-Kentucky initial availability report has a couple of noteworthy nuggets on it.
As usual, the initial
report was released this evening at 8:00 pm, and Jermod McCoy is out once again.

At this point, I’m starting to doubt we see him this season, but it’s a week-to-week thing, and we’ll see if he can eventually get on the field before the end of the regular season. With plenty of big games in November, Tennessee could use him if he’s physically able.
Of note in the questionable column is starting LB Arion Carter. Carter played in 49 of 64 defensive snaps against Alabama, and I didn’t recall seeing him get hurt, so it was a bit of an eyebrow raiser for me. If he’s unable to go on Saturday night, I would expect Edwin Spillman, who missed the first half against the Crimson Tide due to a targeting penalty, to pick up some of the slack there. Jadon Perlotte also logged 15 snaps against Alabama and could be an option, as could Ben Bolton, who also appeared on the report as questionable.
We’ll see if Carter can upgrade to probable or off the list by Saturday night, when the Vols and Wildcats do battle at Kroger Field in Lexington. Kickoff is set for 7:45 pm on the SEC Network.
