Dro Fernandez has stunned Barcelona and manager Hansi Flick this winter by telling the club he wants to leave.
The midfielder, who’s been tipped for big things at Barca, is now expected to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.
Fernandez’s decision comes as he wants more game time, with his decision to leave cemented after Barcelona’s Copa del Rey win over Guadalajara, according to Sport.
The teenager had been expecting to play in the game but didn’t see a single minute, leaving him “hurt and angry” and ready
to call time on his Barcelona career.
Fernandez didn’t play in Barcelona’s next Copa del Rey game either against Racing, reportedly due to injury, and informed Flick after that match of his desire to leave.
Sport say that Fernandez was also not particularly happy at dropping back down to help out Barcelona Atletic in November and January, feeling “he did not want to cut short his progress in a season that he considers key to his career.”
