It’s a new year, but the Yankees still resemble their same old selves with minimal moves made thus far in the offseason. That may finally be changing, as there’s noise of a potential deal for Miami’s Edward
Cabrera in the works, but for now we’ll have to wait and see if that gets completed. Even if it does, that still won’t address the hole in the lineup that’s been waiting to be filled, either by Cody Bellinger returning or someone else stepping into his shoes. They’ve made a formal offer to Bellinger, but who knows how long it’ll take to get to the final offer.
With all that said, the clock is officially running before the 2026 season gets underway, so it’d be nice to start getting some answers on what the team’s improvements are going to be. Does Cabrera complete the rotation if they do land him, and how big of an upgrade would he be? Will we have an answer to the outfield dilemma at long last, or will the wait get dangerously close to the opening of spring camp? If you have questions like this, or anything else on your mind, send ‘em in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday afternoon. All questions received by the night of January 8th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
