The Tampa Bay Rays won Game 5 against the Cleveland Guardians, putting them one win away from potentially winning their first World Series. The Guardians will look to spoil that tonight and force Game 7, which would put them in the World Series for the first time since 2016 and once again within striking distance of their first win since 1948.
It was a relatively slow weekend in Rockies land, but here’s what folks had to say about the team as well as others around the league:

I covered the end of the Yankees’ dynasty. Here’s what happens next for the Dodgers | The Athletic ($)
The Dodgers are out of the playoffs! Tyler Kepner makes his predictions for what will happen now that the three-peat (and maybe the lockout??) is out of the picture. He identifies all of the things that he thinks will happen:
- MLB will try to stop them
- They will keep winning … except in October
- Other powers will emerge
- They will take on other teams’ big contracts (Hey Dodgers, can we interest you in Kris Bryant??)
- They will break up with the manager
- New stars will never measure up
- Fans will never be satisfied
- They will somehow expand their media empire
- They will hold a lot of parties in Cooperstown

MLB created a Dodgers monster and they want the players to help slay it | Bless You Boys
Speaking of the Dodgers, Brandon Day from our Tigers’ sister site does an excellent job of showing how the LA Team was built and now how MLB is trying to stop them after enabling them for years by putting the onus on the players during the CBA negotiations:
Between that exemption, and the Dodgers being allowed to defer a billion dollars in salary as of this writing, the league had a big hand in creating this monster. And the league’s bottom line loves the Dodgers dynasty. Now they say they want the players to agree to a salary cap, which the players union has always resisted, and bail the league out of its own mess.
