No. 18 Mizzou wrestling opened its 2025-26 schedule with the Missouri Duals at the Hearnes Center. The Tigers competed against Division II programs, Drury and Maryville, and an NAIA program in Central

Mizzou began the day with a sweep over Drury, outscoring the Panthers 51-0. There were an impressive six wins by fall and one win by tech fall for the Tigers, a truly one-sided performance to begin the day. Mizzou led in takedowns against Drury, 24-1, and total neutral points, 74-3.
Moore’s win by fall was the fastest of the day, finishing off his opponent in 40 seconds. The redshirt junior is looking to improve upon his fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship last season.
The bout at 149 looked competitive until Pulliam immediately grabbed the upper hand in the second period by pulling a reversal on Knight to earn a 5-0 lead. It only took another 10 seconds after the reversal for the redshirt senior to get the pin.

The Tigers faced much more adversity in their second dual of the day. Maryville proved to be the most competitive opponent, but Mizzou still prevailed 41-3. There was only one win by fall for the Tigers, courtesy of Sinclair, who took both of his bouts by fall. Mizzou led in takedowns 24-4, and shut out the Saints 24-0 in back points.
The first bout that showed this matchup would be closer than the Drury dual was at 141 when Zeke Seltzer was challenged, but ultimately won 6-2. Seltzer was down 1-0 heading into the third period and evened things up, escaping from his bottom starting position. The redshirt junior earned his first takedown of the match 30 seconds in and played solid defense to seal the win.
Sinclair may have been the best wrestler of the day for the Tigers, winning both his bouts by falls. Not only were the falls impressive, but both of the redshirt sophomore’s pins came in the first period. Before Sinclair’s win against Gholson with only 30 seconds remaining in the first, he had accumulated three takedowns, showing off his agility despite his big frame.
After the duals were over, Sinclair reflected on being a highly touted prospect in high school and now getting the start at 184lbs in his redshirt freshman season.
“You go from wrestling 100 matches in your senior year to wrestling 12 matches your redshirt year,” Sinclair said. “Now I get to wrestle a bunch, so hopefully I’m in every opportunity there is to compete.”
Central Methodist Dual
125lbs: No. 33 Mauger (MIZ) over NR Warren Taylor (CM), Victory by Fall
133lbs: NR Boogie Harris (MIZ) over NR Drew Cooper (CM), 11-9 Decision
141lbs: NR Seltzer (MIZ) over NR Arojae Hart (CM), 11-1 Major Decision
149lbs: No. 8 Edmond (MIZ) over NR Alex Walker (CM), Victory by Fall
157lbs: No. 24 Conway (MIZ) over NR Brayden Forman (CM), 14-4 Major Decision
165lbs: NR Mylin (MIZ) over NR Cody Hughes (CM), Victory by Fall
174lbs: No. 13 Mayfield (MIZ) over NR Roman Garcia (CM), 4-3 Decision
184lbs: NR Logan Cole (MIZ) over NR Jacob Ruff (CM), Victory by Fall
197lbs: No. 13 Bates (MIZ) over NR Cameron Cornman (CM), Victory by Tech Fall 19-3
285lbs: No. 23 Stoner (MIZ) over NR Austin Foye (CM), 3-1 Decision
Despite being the lone NAIA program that Mizzou faced on the day, Central Methodist gave Smith’s squad competitive matches. The Tigers grabbed a 46-0 shutout, but multiple bouts were near losses. Five wrestlers took wins by falls or tech falls. Mizzou led 23-1 in takedowns and 70-3 in neutral points.
One, if not the most exciting bout of the day, came against the Eagles in the 133lbs weight class. Harris, the freshman, started the match down 6-0 just four seconds into the first period. He evened things up at 6-6 with a reversal and a near fall, but Cooper took the 7-6 lead going into the second with an escape. It remained tied going into the final period, but a reversal and a riding time point gave the freshman his first career win.
Mauger, a redshirt freshman, got his first start of his career and took home two wins. Despite being in the smallest weight class, Mauger took his opponents off the ground multiple times and showed impressive takedown power.
“Keegan (O’Toole) pulled me aside before my match and said that I needed to get after it more in my matches,” Mauger said. “It’s still the same Keegan, but it’s been great to learn from him.”
Tiger Style ended the day 3-0 and will move forward to see some Division l competition at the Tiger Style Invite. The tournament will be held at the Hearnes Center this year, and it begins at 10 a.m., Nov. 9.
