By now, you should have at least had your morning coffee, watched Mel Gibson take out the greatest movie villain of all time in The Patriot, and have Whitney Houston’s Star Spangled Banner blaring while throwing meats on the grill.
It’s the 250th birthday of our country, and one of the freedoms afforded by the sacrifice of so many is the freedom of the press and speech. The Cup has exercised that right for nearly two decades now dating back to the days of Red {Redacted} Cup hosted on blogspot.
This
is a day to celebrate, remember those before us, and think about the future. We can take a day off from the recruiting cycles, press statements from head coaches, and maybe even turn off all your social media for awhile. Watch some damn fireworks, be proud of how this country started and be happy to be a part of the greatest experiment on this planet – the United States of America.
