Blake Corum scored for the second straight week, and two other former Michigan Wolverines helped the Rams keep the Chargers out of the end zone. Six Michigan alumni took the field at Ford Field as the Lions handed the Vikings their first loss of the season. And on Monday night, two former Michigan tight ends faced off in Seattle.
Here’s how the Wolverines fared in Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season.
Blake Corum gets the Rams’ ground game going
The Rams had just 10 rushing yards at halftime against the Chargers. Corum more than doubled that on one
play in the third quarter, breaking free for a 23-yard touchdown that turned a one-point lead into a 17-9 advantage. He finished with a team-high 73 yards on 11 carries, averaging 6.6 yards per attempt in the 24-9 win.
The Rams had two more former Wolverines making plays on defense. Edge rusher Josaiah Stewart finished with six tackles and a sack, while cornerback Josh Wallace made four tackles, including three solo stops.
Josh Metellus makes 13 tackles as Detroit hands Minnesota its first loss
Metellus finished with 13 tackles and a pass breakup in Minnesota’s 19-15 loss at Ford Field. On the other side, Aidan Hutchinson made four solo tackles and forced a fumble. He played 50 of Detroit’s 53 defensive snaps, as the Lions held Minnesota to 266 total yards.
Rookies Derrick Moore and Jimmy Rolder also saw time on defense and special teams. Moore played 22 defensive snaps, and Rolder played 17 on defense and another 13 on special teams. Unfortunately, Rolder will miss the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury he suffered in this game.
For Minnesota, fullback Max Bredeson played seven offensive snaps, and guard Trevor Keegan appeared off the bench.
Colston Loveland leads Chicago in catches on Monday night
Loveland caught 7-of-9 targets for 65 yards against Seattle on Monday Night Football. He led the Bears in receptions and finished second in receiving yards.
On the other sideline, Seattle tight end AJ Barner turned his lone catch into a 17-yard gain on three targets. Former Michigan linebacker Devin Bush also saw action for Chicago.
DJ Turner II recovers two fumbles in Bengals’ overtime win
Turner recovered two fumbles and made three tackles as Cincinnati beat Tennessee, 43-36, in overtime. Unfortunately, Turner left the game in the fourth quarter due to injury, so hopefully he isn’t out for long.
Fellow Bengals cornerback Daxton Hill made four solo tackles, defensive tackle Kris Jenkins added one, and William Wagner handled long-snapping duties.
