The New England Patriots had an active day on Tuesday. Besides releasing outside linebacker Jose Ramirez to free up a second open spot on their 53-man roster, the team also made change to their practice squad.
In addition, they had six players in town on a tryout basis. One of those — cornerback Al’zillion Hamilton — was added to the practice squad.
The others currently remain unsigned. That group consists of running back Jamaal Williams, tight end Josh Kattus, offensive linemen Cody Ford and Jaren
Kump, and defensive back Stephen Hall.
Ford, 29, is the most notable player from that group. A second-round draft pick out of Oklahoma in 2019, he spent his first three years in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills and later also had stints in Arizona and Cincinnati. During that time, he appeared in a combined 102 regular season and playoff games with 43 starts. The 6-foot-3, 345-pounder has seen extensive action at both tackle spots and both guard spots playing 400-plus snaps at each of those positions.
Williams, 31, offers similar experience. A fourth-round draft choice in 2017, he has played 121 games with 46 starts during his time in Green Bay, Detroit and New Orleans. The NFL’s leading touchdown-scorer in 2022 has remained without a team since March 2025.
Kattus, Kump and Hall all entered the league as rookie free agents earlier this year.
The Patriots will host the Las Vegas Raiders at Gillette Stadium this week. Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
