Gabriel Jesus was a happy man after scoring for Barcelona in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Getafe at Camp Nou.
The Brazil international came into the starting XI, with Raphinha out due to injury, and scored a fine goal as Hansi Flick’s side maintained their perfect start to the season.
Jesus now has three goals already for Barcelona and is planning on banging in plenty more for the Catalan giants.
“Being at Barça is a dream come true for me, I’ve said that a couple of times already. Playing with these players
is also very easy: they all play very well and always have the ball. That makes it much easier for me, as a striker, to get scoring opportunities, and I’m ready to score goals,” he told DAZN.
“Flick gives the players a lot of confidence. We’re playing very well. We’re going to create chances when we’re on the pitch. We have to score goals. I hope Raphinha recovers soon because we’re feeling his absence.
“I’ve played on teams that have always scored a lot of goals. Now I’m on another team that also scores a lot of goals. Let’s keep scoring a lot to win games and, at the end of the season, win titles, which is the most important thing.”
Jesus may just keep his place in the team for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Galatasaray as Flick has already confirmed Raphinha will sit out that encounter as well.
