Barcelona are being credited with interest in young Athletico Paranaense defender Arthur Dias and reportedly sent a scout to watch the youngster in action.
Dias is in the spotlight after being called into the Brazil squad by manager Carlo Ancelotti for friendlies against Australia and India over the international break.
According to Um Dois Esportes, Barca sent scout João Amaral to watch the 19-year-old in action at the weekend for Athletico Paranaense against Bahia.
Dias is a tall, left-footed center-back, who is already a regular for his club side and has a contract with Athletico Paranaense until 2028.
Other clubs in England and Spain are also though to be keen on Dias, with previous reports claiming Tottenham had an offer of €21 million, for 80% of the player’s economic rights knocked back. It’s thought the club are holding out for a fee of €30m.
Dias will now be hoping to feature for Brazil in the two scheduled friendlies as interest in the youngster grows across Europe.
