As the once perceived 17-0 Los Angeles Rams sit at 4-4, someone needs to be blamed, and according to fans surveyed, Sean McVay deserves more than his fair share. Over 67% the fans polled blame McVay as being a “part of the problem” for the team’s struggles, as opposed to around 32% expressing that McVay is “not a problem”.
To go so far as to say the Rams could do better at head coach than McVay may be foolhardy, but to say that McVay could be doing a better job as his team sits 4-4? That seems fair.
McVay would likely agree, he could be doing a better job.
If you doubt McVay in Week 9 against his former Washington Commanders, then you should make a bet on FanDuel. Bet responsibly.
Of course, coaching only gets you so far, yet, in the NFL coaching may be more important than any other sport. McVay is one of the best NFL coaches we’ve seen. Even if he never wins another game, what he’s done since entering the league in 2017 has changed the NFL.
Despite the historical relevance McVay has at the NFL level, football is a “What have you done for me lately business?” Lately, McVay has helped guide his team from 2-4 to 4-4.
If he keeps winning, if the Rams keeps winning, the fans will believe, and McVay will be seen as a solution, not a problem.
Do you believe this team is headed in the right direction?
Speaking of belief in the Rams, how confident are you that this team is headed in the right direction? According to fans surveyed, their confidence in this team is a coin flip with 51% of fans saying this team is headed the right way, while 49% are not so positive.
Coaching aside, the Rams on paper, despite with the loss of Jaylen Watson, have a stronger roster than the Commanders. The Rams should win even if McVay doesn’t bring his A-game on Sunday. Though, games aren’t played on paper, otherwise the Rams would be 17-0 instead of 4-4.
Jayden Daniels in terms of talent, has it. He can give the Rams fits if they don’t contain him. But for the second time this year, Myles Garrett should be suiting up for the Rams, and perhaps he’ll have a better showing than Week 1 and actually earn a sack, or a tackle, or anything. Garrett doesn’t have any real stats for L.A. after his lone game against the San Francisco 49ers, which didn’t go well for the entire team.
Maybe Week 9 is L.A. rookie CJ Daniels’ chance to breakout, maybe Kyren Williams and Blake Corum each score, or maybe Washington’s own rookie Sonny Styles puts down a sack or two. If you want to bet on it, FanDuel should have you covered.
McVay and the Rams can change the tone of their season with a win on Sunday to get to 5-4. A loss, and L.A.’s season may officially be spiraling. If you feel any type of way about the Rams or another team, check out FanDuel.
