Bayern Munich had dispatched Real Madrid in style, with a 6-4 aggregate win enough to send Los Blancos packing back to Spain. The Bavarians earned themselves a rematch against Paris Saint-Germain, current holders of the Champions League. Bayern won 2-1 in Paris in the group phase thanks to a Luis Díaz brace. PSG manager Luis Enrique is expecting an intense battle between the two sides.
“We’ve had a difficult schedule in the Champions League and will now be facing one of the best teams in Europe at
the moment,” Enrique said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “But we are the defending champions. It’s hard to predict what will happen. We’ve got two big matches ahead of us, and we’re happy to be in the last four. We’re going to have two incredible games at a very high level.”
The 55-year-old went on to say that getting labelled as favorites heading into this match means nothing. “Favourites? It doesn’t matter who the favourite is. What matters is what we show on the pitch,” the former FC Barcelona and Spain coach said.
